95 stencils feature drawings by children from Edleston Primary School and Wistaston Church Lane Academy, alongside representations of other local images. Look closely, and you can see the Bentley logo, Joey the Swan, a dog tied up to the swings at Queens Park, the wheels from Crewe's 1956 Coat of Arms, a train and a football amongst other images. The design features as its anchor a silhouette of Joseph Locke, the engineer responsible for laying out the original town.
