Dr Creighton Hutchinson moved to West Bank in the 1880's from Ireland. For 40 years he tended to locals on his familiar horse and trap, in the boom of the chemical industry in Victorian Widnes. Often treating his poorer patients for free or a few shillings whilst charging the richer ones who could pay, they called him 'The Robin Hood of Medicine'.
